Aftermath of the meeting.Foc09…..

Filed under: Uncategorized — rosannew @ 8:25 pm

I wish to share my experience with my online meeting. Firstly, thank you to everyone for showing up and persisting with getting into the meeting room. The support was fantastic and I am going to do my best to get to everyone else’s meeting and give the same support to them.

Secondly I would like to thank Anton and Sarah for holding the meeting together. Both Anton and I had hosted various meetings to each other to test the meeting invite system and they had worked. However on the day things didn’t go so well. I’m still not sure what happened and Sarah did warn me that the link wasn’t working. Anton and I had experimented with this and thought it only activated when the meeting began. It may have something to do with my Mac? I’m not sure.

Generally it was actually great fun and I am impressed with how on to it people are in our group and the way everyone is so interested in the topic of PLNs that we discussed. Thank you everyone for attending and I now feel inspired to Blog and start developing my own PLN (which is sadly lacking).

  1. Hello Rosanne, thank you very much for facilitating a very interesting session on PLN. I really enjoyed the opportunity to explore the use of DimDim and was very impressed with how you and Anton used it to get across your message. You advertised the session and obviously had prepared yourselves beforehand. People enjoyed the session as evidenced by the comments and questions afterwards. I know a lot of people wanted to attend but couldn’t so don’t forget to tell us where to get the recording.

In terms of facilitation I think there are a couple of areas you need to think about in the future …nothing that you haven’t already identified, I know.

    1. Make sure everyone has the right password so they can get into the meeting.
    2. Make sure everyone knows how to contact you if there are problems getting into the meeting. It wasn’t until I got an email from Anton that I realised how to get into the meeting.
    3. Work out how you are going to connect people into your meeting if there is a problem. If I hadn’t been there to contact people via Skype, email etc, no one would have turned up.
    4. Think how you’ll facilitate question and answers if your speaker is less experienced with online communication as Anton.

    Great session, Rosanne, thank you.
